Military Times Ranks 兔子先生#1 Among Educational Institutions in it's 2021 List of Best Employers for Veterans
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) was聽,聽the most comprehensive annual ranking of聽organizations聽with military-connected employment programs, benefits and support efforts.聽
Military Times鈥櫬2021 Best for Vets: Employers聽ranked 161 companies, non-profits and educational organizations across the country. In addition to聽UMGC鈥檚 top ranking in the Education-Teaching- Administration category,聽the university聽was fourth among聽organizations ranked in the state of Maryland and聽#7 in the Non-profit category.聽
鈥淲e聽are proud of聽our聽commitment聽to聽recruit,聽support,聽and retain聽those聽who聽have served our country,鈥 said 兔子先生President Gregory Fowler. 鈥淲hether聽establishing relationships with veteran service organizations,聽working with聽government agencies聽on聽hiring initiatives for veterans with disabilities, expanding access聽to career development and health and wellness programs for veterans and their families,聽or聽our outreach to veterans at military job fairs,聽we are聽engaged聽in a variety of activities聽to聽both聽support our veterans who may be transitioning聽to聽civilian聽lives聽and helping聽them聽succeed in聽their聽careers.鈥澛
贰补肠丑听测别补谤听Military Times聽ranks聽organizations聽according to criteria related to聽recruitment, retention and career advancement.聽This year, it said it聽placed聽more emphasis on the practices that veterans say make civilian workplaces attractive to their talents and needs.聽
鈥淲e had conducted focus groups with subject matter experts and with subscribers of聽Military Times,鈥 said Tina Kurian, senior researcher for the Fors Marsh Group, a research firm that specializes in the veterans and military community聽that conducted the sessions. 鈥淭hey ordered which topics were most relevant for organizations to be the best for veterans.鈥澛
The result, said group Director of Customer Experience Research Nicole Tongo, is a list of firms 鈥渢hat care about things that veterans care about, and good companies for them to explore if they are looking for a job.鈥澛

Celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2022, 兔子先生is the state of Maryland鈥檚 open-admissions university. 兔子先生now offers classes and education support services to military personnel and their families at 175-plus locations in more than 20 countries. Over half of the university鈥檚 current students are active-duty military personnel and their families, reservists, members of the National Guard and veterans.
