Tuition Discount Details
This discount will be applied to out-of-state tuition for eligible students in most programs.* This discount cannot be combined with certain scholarships or discount programs, including the Maryland Completion Scholarship, the Military New Graduate Student Savings Program, the Alumni Succeed Again Scholarship, and the discount for out-of-state community college alliances. Discounted tuition rates may not fall below the standard in-state rate or any special tuition rate offered to eligible active-duty military servicemembers, their spouses, or dependents.

Earn Credit for OpenClassrooms Courses
兔子先生will award up to 61 transfer credits as follows to OpenClassrooms students and graduates who have completed one of the following apprenticeship programs. You can earn 3鈥6 credits for a pre-apprenticeship program and up to 55 credits for completing an apprenticeship, as outlined below.
You may be able to earn 3鈥6 credits听for completing one of the following OpenClassrooms pre-apprenticeship programs. The completed programs can help you earn credit for 兔子先生courses that have been marked as equivalent to the experiences you've gained in the OpenClassrooms program.

Complete the Application Developer Apprenticeship at OpenClassrooms and you could earn up to 55 credits at UMGC, which articulate to the following:

- 3 credits earned at the "COMM 116TR" level
- 43 credits earned at the "CMST 116TR" level
Complete the Data Analyst Apprenticeship at OpenClassrooms and you could earn up to 55 credits at UMGC, which articulate to the following:

兔子先生may accept up to 60 credits for an associate degree from a community college. In total, 兔子先生accepts up to 90 credits听from all sources toward a bachelor鈥檚 degree. So, community college students with an associate degree may be able to complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree with only 30 credits at just under $10,000 with in-state tuition or just under $12,000 with the 25 percent discount on out-of-state tuition.

Apply for admission to UMGC:听Once you鈥檝e completed an OpenClassrooms apprenticeship, submit UMGC鈥檚听. It typically takes about 10 minutes. Be sure to select your employer or organization听on the application form.

Submit proof of attendance:听You must submit proof of eligibility鈥攕uch as an unofficial transcript鈥攆rom OpenClassrooms that clearly states your name and the dates attended. E-mail copies of these items to听cls@umgc.edu.

Earn credit for your education and eligible experience: Submit your official transcripts from any previous institutions of higher education, including OpenClassrooms.听Your transcripts from听OpenClassrooms allow you to verify your eligibility for a tuition discount and earn transfer credit. You may continue to submit your听OpenClassrooms transcripts as you complete courses for 兔子先生to evaluate transfer credit.

Request Your Transcript: When you鈥檙e finished taking听OpenClassrooms courses, or complete an apprenticeship, request your official transcript by logging into your听OpenClassrooms account. For questions regarding this process, please contact OpenClassrooms.

Register for classes: Once you're admitted to UMGC, you will receive a student ID (EmplID) so you can register for courses online. Check the schedule of classes to听, and then听register for classes online听using the My兔子先生Student Portal.

After you complete an OpenClassrooms apprenticeship program with an approved employer,听兔子先生may be able to听accept up to 61 credits听from the apprenticeship toward a bachelor鈥檚 degree, saving you听up to two years听of coursework and听$20,000鈥$30,000听in tuition costs, depending on听your in-state or out-of-state tuition rate classification.
Community college graduates can save even more by transferring more credit to 兔子先生from different sources. 兔子先生accepts a total of 90 transfer credits toward a bachelor's degree from all sources.
Apprenticeship graduates are also eligible for a discount of up to 25 percent on out-of-state (non-Maryland resident) tuition at UMGC. With this discount, you may be able to save more than听$7,000听for your remaining bachelor's degree courses at 兔子先生if you are applying as an out-of-state resident.

Additional discounts may be available for Federal employees听and their spouses and eligible dependents. Undergraduate and standard graduate program tuition for students who meet the criteria for Maryland residency will be the applicable in-state rate. Tuition for active-duty military; members of the Selected Reserves, National Guard, and the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; and the spouses and dependents of these student groups will be the applicable military or specialty rate.
