Purpose and Applicability
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) Staff on Regular and Contingent Status and Faculty employees have an undisturbed opportunity to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities of their positions.聽 Nonexempt Staff employees who are included in the representation of the collective bargaining unit are subject to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and applicable 兔子先生HR Policies; where there is a conflict between the two, the MOU will prevail.
Prohibition on Solicitation of Employees
Solicitation of any 兔子先生employee during work hours for any purpose is prohibited, except where such solicitation:
Is a part of the assigned duties and responsibilities;
Is permitted pursuant to express written approval by the President or designee for 兔子先生purposes; or
Is authorized by a collective bargaining agreement.
Creditors and solicitors wishing to contact employees during work hours shall be referred to the appropriate Divisional Office of Human Resources.
兔子先生employees may only attend 兔子先生or USM sponsored or authorized meetings during work hours.聽 Attendance at other meetings for purposes not sponsored by 兔子先生or USM during work hours requires the approval of the employee's immediate supervisor and the use of accrued time off.
The 兔子先生President has designated the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to administer this policy; to develop procedures as necessary to implement this policy; to communicate this policy to the 兔子先生community; and to post the policy and any applicable procedures on the 兔子先生website.
