Policy VII-1.17-GC 兔子先生Policy on Logistical Support for Overseas Staff and Faculty Employees

  1. Purpose and Applicability

    This Policy explains logistical support that may be available to Overseas employees. This Policy applies to Overseas Staff employees on Regular and Contingent III status and Overseas Collegiate Faculty.

  2. Administration

    1. Employees may be eligible for logistical support from the Department of Defense pursuant to UMGC's contracts with the Department of Defense. The applicable Overseas Division will process an employee's request for logistical support if his/her position has been identified as one that 兔子先生will put forward to the Department of Defense, and if he/she satisfies the criteria established for logistical support, which varies from location to location.

    2. An employee who has been granted logistical support may not have any other employment in addition to his/her position with 兔子先生Asia/Europe, without the written permission of the Vice President for the employee's respective 兔子先生Division.

    3. Employment outside of 兔子先生Asia/Europe, even with the permission of the Vice President for the employee's respective 兔子先生Division, may result in the loss of logistical support.

    4. A break in service that exceeds sixty (60) calendar days may result in loss of logistical support.

    5. An employee who has applied for or has been granted logistical support must comply with all practices, rules, regulations, or the like established by the applicable 兔子先生Division or the Department of Defense concerning the application, granting, or maintenance of logistical support.

    6. The applicable 兔子先生Division may request the Department of Defense to revoke logistical support at any time. The Department of Defense may revoke logistical support at any time at UMGC's request or on its own initiative.

    7. Any logistically supported employee who plans to remain overseas after separation from a 兔子先生Division must contact the appropriate host government customs and immigration office to arrange a change in her/his visa status.

Implementation Procedures

The 兔子先生President has designated the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to administer this policy; to develop procedures as necessary to implement this policy; to communicate this policy to the 兔子先生community; and to post the policy and any applicable procedures on the 兔子先生website.
